Martin is a documentary photographer and filmmaker based in Oakland, CA. His work has taken him around the world and been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, ProPublica, Frontline, AJ+, Cosmopolitan Magazine, News Photographer Magazine, National Public Radio, Seeker, NBC News, Telemundo, Univisión, The Dallas Morning News, The Texas Tribune, and elsewhere.

A trilingual Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Martin holds MA degrees in Journalism and Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and BA degrees in Economics and Latin American Studies from American University.
